From jump and spin technique to her experience as an elite athlete, you'll gain a wealth of knowledge from her into the world of competitive figure skating. Plus, opportunities for one-on-one lessons.

About The Road To Gold Destination Vail
Training Camp

We believe that skaters of all ages and levels deserve the opportunity to train like an elite athlete in both large and small markets. This summer, we have partnered with Shipstad Entertainment and the Vail Skating Festival to bring Road to Gold Training Camps to Vail, Colorado - a destination for families to enjoy a fun filled vacation along with an opportunity for your skater to train. The camp will provide athletes all over the world with quality coaching and a positive, upbeat, and unforgettable experience. 

 

Our figure skating training camp is designed for both youth and adult figure skaters. Whether you're a competitive skater, taking tests for your own personal fulfillment, or just want to improve your skills while being surrounded by inspiring athletes and world-class coaches, there's something for everyone! 

 

The mission of Road to Gold Destination Vail is to empower athletes like you to believe in themselves within the scope of the sport and beyond by providing unique opportunities for education, communication and collaboration. Our team is passionate about helping you develop your talents and will be there to guide you in learning how to embrace your own special qualities and goals both on and off the ice.

About the Vail Skating Festival

Started in 2018, The Vail Skating Festival includes: summer and winter training clinics/seminars, free outdoor shows during the month of December, and the Ice Spectacular show at Dobson Arena. The shows feature US National medalists, International medalists, and Olympians. Past stars of the shows have included Patrick Chan, Mirai Nagasu, and Karen Chen to name a few.

Youth Camp

Youth Training Camp Information

20 years of age and younger

Includes

  • Meet and Greet with the coaching staff

  • Over 8 total hours of class time,Monday and Tuesday July 22-23, both on and off ice

  • Exhibition opportunities

  • Off ice classes for parents

  • Camp Swag

  • Freestyle time available at an additional cost

  • And the best part? Time to enjoy the beautiful Town of Vail

 

What can you expect from the camp?

  • All classes will be sold a la carte so skaters can create their own perfect camp experience

  • Groups include single salchow through double axel and above

  • Freestyle times available at an additional cost 

 

Private Lessons

  • Private lesson times are available and are offered to skaters in the order in which class registrations are received

 

Adult Training Camp Information

21 years of age and older

Includes

  • Networkng with other adult skaters

  • 8 hours of classes, on and off ice

  • Competition Simulation with expert critique

  • Camp Swag

  • Freestyle time available at an additional cost

  • Private Lesson opportunities

  • And the best part? Time to enjoy the beautiful Town of Vail

 

What can you expect from the camp?

  • All classes are sold a la carte so skaters can build their own perfect camp experience

  • Groups include new to jumping through double jumps

  • Freestyle times available at an additional cost 

 

Private Lessons

  • Private lesson times are available and are offered to skaters in the order in which class registrations are received

Lodging & Transportation
  • What is your refund policy?
    No refunds will be given after May 1, 2024. Before that date a full refund minus a $25 admin fee will be given when the request is received via email to Road2goldskating@gmail.com. Medical exceptions may be considered after May 1, 2024
  • What time should I arrive?
    When you arrive the first day, make sure you check in with our team at Dobson Ice Arena so you can pick up your camp swag. On the days of camp, just make sure you arrive with enough time to get ready and prepared before classes start.
  • How do I cancel my registration?
    There are a limited number of spots available for each camp. If you cannot attend, please email us at road2goldskating@gmail.com to open a spot for other skaters.
  • What should my child wear?
    Skating dresses and/or pants/leggings are acceptable, but please refrain from bulky or baggy clothing. Please no jeans or large coats as they can hinder movement. Skaters should have their hair pulled back away from the face.
